A Thanksgiving Message From the Staff at Schertz Animal Hospital

Autumn CatWhen we think of Thanksgiving, we often consider what is most meaningful to us: friends, family, health, and the fulfilling moments of laughter, togetherness, and experiences that comprise a life. Here at Schertz, we are especially grateful for the family of pet guardians and their beloved furry family members entrusted to our care.

For more than 40 years we’ve been serving the Schertz, TX community, and we consider the gift of proving veterinary care to so many amazing animals to be the pinnacle of our practice. We have been with you and your pets through illness and health, and have watched puppies and kittens grow into adults and seniors, which we consider to be a humbling experience to share with so many of our wonderful clients and their pets.

At Schertz Animal Hospital, we take flea prevention very seriously. Fleas carry disease, cause serious skin problems, and can create an infestation in any pet owner’s home very quickly. In fact, one female flea can lay up to 3,000 eggs before she dies. Fleas are one area in which an ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure.

But what is the best flea prevention option for your dog? Schertz Animal Hospital offers two great options to our pet owners… Continue…

Benefitting From Your Vet’s Pharmacy

iStock_000008847188_MediumIn the looming shadows of our present economic state, almost everyone shares a common interest – saving money. Clipping coupons, budgeting, buying in bulk, and eliminating unnecessary goods or indulgences can be the best ways to streamline expenditures.

However, when it comes to looking for better options for your pet’s medications, be careful when trusting sources other than your veterinarian’s pharmacy. Pet owners certainly have the right to shop around for better deals from a long list of other sources; but how can you be sure you are getting what your pet really and truly needs? Continue…
