I have been involved in veterinary medicine since 1984. I started as a kennel technician which sparked my desire to become a doctor. I have been a practicing veterinarian now for 15 years and have owned Schertz Animal Hospital since 2003. My wife and I have 3 children. My first passion is caring for and healing animals, but my second passion is fishing. I challenge myself by entering in competitive fishing tournaments. I enjoy the great outdoors and watching my children grow.
Dr. Mossburg is a Texas A&M alumni, earning both his undergraduate (1995) and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (2002) degrees. Prior to joining Schertz Animal Hospital in 2005 he worked in the Corpus Christi area from 2002-2004. With over 10 years experience working with small animals, Dr. Mossburg is specifically interested in general medicine, surgery and pocket pets. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his kids, especially his son's baseball, fitness and vesting.
Dr. Christina Hohn
Dr. Hohn is a 2010 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Medicine. Her 15 years of experience in the veterinary field has been a great asset to our Hospital and patients. She became a team member in 7/2010. She has a rescue dog Dunkel pictured left and rescue cat named Ton Ton that she shares her spare time with.
Rachelle B., CVA
Rachelle joined our team in 9/2009, earning her Certified Veterinary Certificate in 10/2012. With an extreme passion for animals, she strives to gain more knowledge that will better enable her to reach the highest level of quality and compassionate care for those who entrust their pets to us. When not doing webinars and training, Rachelle and her husband Eric like to spoil their daughter Cora who was born January 2015. They also have 2 dogs and 2 cats who love to play with their new sister.

Stephanie became a valued team member in 1/09. She is also a Certified Veterinary Technician. She loves working with animals and has a great passion for taking care of her patients. Steph and her husband Brent spend most of their free time spoiling their twin boys Kaden and Karson who were born January 2014. She also has a rescue boxer named Ruger who loves his new human brothers.

Kristen joined the Schertz Animal Hospital team in 6/2012. She comes to us from Pennsylvania where she worked as a technician, as well as completed her undergrad degree with honors in Biology in 3 years. During that time she also competed on the women’s tennis and cross-country teams. She has 2 rescue kitties and 2 rescue puppies that light up her life!
Lisa S., CVA
Lisa has been in the Veterinary field for about 20 years. She was working at a Ophthalmology Specialists Veterinary Hospital for 10 years before coming to Schertz Animal Hospital in September of 2014. She and her boyfriend Rob like to spend their free time with their 4 dogs, 3 cats and a bearded dragon. They also like to spend their free time with Lisa's granddaughter Remi.
Whitney S., CVA
Whitney joined our team in 9/2008 and has become an important part of our family. She loves seeing clients and their pets and has become very attached to them. When she is not spending time playing with the dogs and cats that come into our hospital, she shares her attention with her daughter Adley, her dog Macie and last but not least, her husband Blain.
Tauyna S., Veterinary Technician
Taunya came to us from Hawaii in 2014. Being a military wife she has worked in multiple hospitals in Hawaii, Washington, California finally making her home in Texas. She enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and three cats and working to finish her BS in Forensic Science.
Alyssa S., Licensed Veterinary Technician
Alyssa was born and raised in Texas, she graduated from Blinn College Veterinary Tech Program May 2016. She started working with us in July 2016. Her best friend is her border collie mix, Ayla. They enjoy participating in novice level agility and spending free time outdoors.
Felicia S., Veterinary Technician
Felicia was born and raised in Texas, following in her mothers foot steps with her love of animals. She began her veterinary career here with us in 2004. She moved with her husband Vince out of state until moving back and returning to continue her career April of 2017. She has a beautiful daughter and 2 growing puppies, Bruin (Bernese Mountain dog), and Brie (French bulldog).

I was born in PA and raised in Houston. I have been in the veterinary field for 7 years now and I have a daughter that was born in February of 2017. Animals are my passion and I can't imagine doing anything else in life!

Hi my name is Beverly, I am so excited to be back in my hometown of Schertz, Texas! For the past 15 years my husband and I have moved wherever the military has taken us. My passion is animals and throughout the years my husband and I have continued to run our 501c3 rescue and managed our pet boarding and daycare facility. For the last 5 years I have worked at various small animal full service hospitals as a client service representative. I am the mommy to Belle our rescue pit, Orian our Lhasa mix and Green bean our spunky chameleon. In my free time I love to spend time with my family and travel.

I am a native Texan born and raised in this area. I decided to leave a career in law enforcement to follow my passion, animals. I have worked as a veterinary CSR since 2014 and I truly love it. On my off time, I love to travel with my husband of 26 years or spend time with my two grown sons. Of course I have furbabies too, 3 dogs and 2 cats who complete our family.

Karen Huffman, Practice Manager
I have been in the veterinary field since 1977. Starting out as a kennel assistant and then progressing my way to technician, receptionist and practice manager for several different hospitals. I have been with Schertz Animal Hospital since March of 2003. I am proud to be owned by 2 miniature pinchers and 1 jack Russell terrier. There are2 rescue dogs that stay in my office with me during the day along with my dogs and faithfully annoy the staff. In my free time I enjoy my dog training classes as well as my family and beautiful granddaughter.

I have worked for Schertz Animal Hospital for 14 years with a short break in 2015. I have loved almost all of it. I have been married to the love of my life, Dale since 1981! We have one son and daughter -in-law, and two granddaughters ( yes, I am a lucky lady). We have 3 Yorkshire Terriers, Berkley Fireball Cupcake, Rio and Pearl and one mixed breed dog, Trixie Coyote. We also have two cats. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends ( both human and furry), sewing, quilting, and fishing with my husband.

Raised in a very small town in New Mexico. Have lived in Texas for about 3 years. She has one daughter, Emma, who wants to be a Veterinarian when she grows up. She has 2 cats named Bareback Jack and Oklahoma Joe. She also has 3 dogs- Keystone the Australian Kelpie, Newt the Catahoula, and a very spoiled Shih Tzu named Komatsu. She has worked with all kinds of animals in various fields of the animal industry for about 12 years. Her long term goal is to eventually be a veterinary technician. Her hobbies include BBQ'ing with family, rock crawling in the Jeep, and loves Texas country music.

Maddie was born and raised in Pleasonton Texas. She LOVES her 3 dogs, Jackson who is a Rottie. Oakley is a lab mix. Medina is a chocolate lab. She has always had a passion for animals. Her dream and her goal is to become a Veterinarian! Helping animals who don't have a voice is a selfless act and she would love to be able to help. Working at Schertz Animal Hospital brings her one step closer to her dream!
Rachel, Kennel Technician
I was raised in the small town of Burnet, Texas. Rachel has always had a love for animals. I went to Navarro College in Corsicana where I pursued my Vet Tech degree. Then worked with the Burnet Veterinarian Hospital for 2 years as an assistant. I also have several years of experience in the animal boarding atmosphere. I have one dog, a Shih Tzu mix who's name is Jasper. Outside of work I enjoy hanging out at the lake, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding.
